My job would be a lot easier if all the Gryffindors were expelled. Will you all try to refrain from beating each other up? I know that most of you deserve it, I'm close to hexing you all to Salazar and back myself, but you are all as bad as each other. What is more, please refrain from attacking prefects.

Please make life easier for yourselves by just being boring. The Ravenclaws do an excellent job at that, the rest of you should follow their example. Or make like Potter and just run away.

It's not even been twenty-four hours and I'm starting to wonder whether my Christmas holidays would not be more enjoyable had I stayed at Hogwarts. The house is rather full of people I do not know, and while it is relatively pleasing to know what is happening rather than being fed the lies we are served at school, I do not much care for Death Eaters stealing our food. Aunt Bellatrix seems rather keen to get me involved with all the goings on, yet Mother seems to be trying to have no duties assigned to me with any more responsibility than occasionally taking some food down to Ollivander. I must confess I am not disappointed. Father still does not have a wand so he is using Mother's, so perhaps if I give my own to Mother I shall be considered useless and left alone. Much more preferable than practising unforgiveable curses on teachers or old men.

I must not let this journal be found by anyone. Much as I detest many of my classmates who write in these pages, I am not heartless enough to subject them to whatever should happen if this book is found.

I can't help but wonder if Potter is still alive. Part of me hopes he is.

For a compulsory dinner, the food wasn't even that good. Can't say much for the after dinner entertainment, either.

I thought I'd let Weasley have the snitch that time. It's called charity, heavens knows those Gryffindors need some of that. As for the rest of you, I am much too busy to read your brainless whining, good lord. Just be greatful their incompetence didn't get them all killed.
